C&VG (Computer & Video Games) #24Oct 1983 · p.19

C&VG (Computer & Video Games)

RIDE THAT OSTRICH INTO BATTLE Can you face the challenge of jousting with the King's champion? This joust is a copy of the arcade game of the same name. And if you've played it you'll know that you ride an ostrich and battle against the opposing vultures. Try to kill them with your lance, but even when they are dropping from the skies as a final gesture a dying vulture will drop an egg to the ground or into the swamp. These eggs must be destroyed quickly or a new vulture will hatch out. With nine skill levels the game will be able to cater for the beginner or the best in the land. The game for the 16K Spectrum is pure machine code and has hi-res colour graphics. Rabbit, the makers, say that Joust is one of their new generation of computer games that are much more sophisticated, complex and challenging. Joust will be available from Rabbit Software, the North London-based company, in early September when you can test out their claims for £5.95.
