From the author's YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JBQI0lBKDU): Developed by Damian Scattergood for New Concepts in the 1980's. It was designed to use a HUCI - Heads Up Control Interface, which was a helmet you wore to control the players left and right movement. This predated the likes to the WII and Virtual Reality systems, but sadly never made it to market.
