The book boom seems to be dying off and most new publications seem to be for various specialist markets. This one is no exception. Written by Robert A Mackenzie and published by Sigma, it is a collection of Spectrum routines to perform the various calculations needed by all devotees of this subject. The main programs are to enable astronomers to make predictions about the positions of the sun, moon, planets, satellites, stars and meteor's and analyse observations. A wealth of information is also given. Very useful, and Mr Mackenzie's pedigree (he is founder and director of the British Meteor Society, and a fellow of the Royal Astronomical and British interplanetary Societies) lends weight to this book. It will cost you £8.95.
